Dear Community Partner,

Greetings from Class Act Carlsbad! As high school graduation grows near, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey we embarked upon in 1989 and are humbled by the unwavering support of the local community who have been a beacon of hope for our cause. Although it has been nearly four decades since the last tragedy when Carlsbad had five alcohol related fatalities involving students in the year leading up to the 1988 graduation, we must not forget why there is a Class Act.

This year, the 38th annual Class Act, will begin immediately after the CHS graduation that is scheduled for Friday, May 22nd. All Carlsbad seniors from area schools (Carlsbad High School, Early College High School, Faith Christian, Paradise Ranch Academy, Jefferson Montessori Academy, Eddy Alternative program, mid-term graduates and home schooled) will be included. Our hope is that you will want to be a part of this great cause. Your charitable contributions, and time volunteered, will directly touch approximately 500 kids (350 seniors and their guests)—a pretty good deal, wouldn’t you agree?

The party for the graduates is awesome, but if we’re honest, it is the free food and PRIZES that get the students to attend the party! In the last few years, we have seen a decline in student attendance. So, in 2025, we gave away a brand-new vehicle thanks to our generous sponsors! This really helped get the students to show up. Additionally, we aim to ensure that every graduate that stays for the full night receives a prize. Throughout the night, many other cash prizes are given out for participation in various games. Finally, at the end of the night, students that stay for the full event have a chance to win bigger prizes like computers and gaming systems. We also award scholarships each year to deserving students. With every dollar you contribute, you have a direct impact on the size and scale of the party and the gifts awarded to the graduates.

• Volunteer: This event is 100% fueled by our volunteers. We can’t do it without all of you. Please consider attending a meeting to see how you can volunteer to help with this worthy cause.
