What We Do
The Carlsbad Municipal Schools Curriculum & Instruction Team is dedicated to the success of all students and teachers and is committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Collaborating with an incredibly talented instructional staff, the curriculum and instruction department focuses on research-based instructional best practices and works to provide a rigorous curriculum designed to engage and ignite learning opportunities for all students.
This page has been created to provide professional development and support to staff for all district adopted and approved resources. To get started, check out either the Elementary Curriculum Overview, or the Secondary Curriculum Overview.
When you become familiar with those programs, feel free to browse the List of Approved Resources to learn about what other programs are available to you as an educator with CMS. Most importantly, please don't hesitate to set up time to meet with one of the members of the curriculum and instruction team to implement any of these items into your curriculum!

Digital Learning Specialist

(501) 213-1414The Digital Learning Specialist at CMS is responsible for providing comprehensive professional development & support to all staff, small groups, administration & district leadership. A key focus is the strategic integration of digital platforms into the curriculum within both classroom and lab settings, aiming to enhance student achievement.
The Digital Learning Specialist also provides digital learning training for all new licensed employees, nurses, secretaries, and long-term substitutes.
As a former classroom teacher, the Digital Learning Specialist offers diverse support, which may include leading or co-teaching digital learning-based lessons, assisting with lesson planning, & providing individualized professional development. For training on any of the digital learning platforms utilized by the school district, please contact the Digital Learning Specialist via email, phone, or by scheduling an appointment.
