Thank You, Exxon Mobil!

Our Energy Pathway students recently completed an intensive 6-week Project-Based Learning unit focused on Artificial Lift systems in the Permian Basin. Throughout the project, students engaged in real-world problem solving, including calculating hydrostatic pressure, designing off-grid renewable power systems, 3D printing pump prototypes, and managing realistic operating budgets.
This experience was greatly enhanced by the support of industry professionals. We extend our sincere thanks to Michael Tschauner (ExxonMobil), who played a key role in shaping the project, delivered a guest presentation on artificial lift systems, mentored students during their design process, and served as an authentic audience member for final presentations.
We also thank Ashley Leon, ExxonMobil Production Engineer, for volunteering her time to work with students and participate in final presentations. Her presence added valuable real-world perspective as students defended their mathematical, electrical, and mechanical decisions.
Their expertise and commitment helped bring authentic industry connections into the classroom, providing students with a meaningful and engaging learning experience.
